【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethoddescribesproceduresforthetensiontestingofstructuralalloysinliquidhelium.TheformatissimilartothatofotherASTMtensionteststandards,butthecontentsincludemodificationsforcryogenictestingwhichrequiresspecialapparatus,smallerspecimens,andconcernforserratedyielding,adiabaticheating,andstrain-rateeffects.1.2Toconductatensiontestbythisstandard,thespecimeninacryostatisfullysubmergedinnormalliquidhelium(HeI)andtestedusingcrossheaddisplacementcontrolatanominalstrainrateof10-3s-1orless.Testsusingloadcontrolorhighstrainratesarenotconsidered.1.3Thisstandardspecifiesmethodsforthemeasurementofyieldstrength,tensilestrength,elongation,andreductionofarea.ThedeterminationoftheelasticmodulusistreatedinTestMethodE111.Note18212;Theboilingpointofnormalliquidhelium(HeI)atsealevelis4.2K(-452.1176;For7.6176;R).Itdecreaseswithgeographicelevationandis4.0K(-452.5176;For7.2176;R)attheNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnologyinColorado,1677m(5500ft)abovesealevel.Inthisstandardthetemperatureisdesignated4K.1.4ValuesstatedinSIunitsaretreatedasprimary.ValuesstatedinU.S.customaryunitsaretreatedassecondary.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection5.

【摘要】:Thetrapezoidtearmethodisatestthatproducestensionalongareasonablydefinedcoursesuchthatthetearpropagatesacrossthewidthofthespecimen.Thetrapezoidtearingstrengthforwovenfabricsisdeterminedprimarilybythepropertiesoftheyarnsthataregrippedintheclamps.Innonwovenfabrics,becausetheindividualfibersaremoreorlessrandomlyorientedandcapableofsomereorientationinthedirectionoftheappliedload,themaximumtrapezoidtearingstrengthisreachedwhentheresistancetofurtherreorientationisgreaterthantheforcerequiredtoruptureoneormorefiberssimultaneously.Thetrapezoidtearingstrengthmethodisusefulforestimatingtherelativetearresistanceofdifferentfabricsordifferentdirectionsinthesamefabric.Thistestmethodmaybeusedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments;however,cautionisadvisedsinceinformationaboutbetween-laboratoryprecisionisincomplete.Comparativetestsasdirectedin5.3.1maybeadvisable.Incaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultswhenusingthistestmethodforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimensthatareashomogeneousaspossibleandthatarefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Testspecimensshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingtheappropriateStudent''st-testandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforetestingisbegun.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandthesuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinthelightoftheknownbias.Mostgeotextilefabricscanbetestedbythistestmethod.Somemodificationofclampingtechniquesmaybenecessaryforagivenfabric,dependinguponitsstructure.Specialadaptationmaybenecessarywithstrongfabrics,orfabricsmadefromglassfibers,topreventthemfromslippingintheclampsorbeingdamagedasaresultofbeinggrippedintheclamps.Thistestmethodmaybeusedwithconstant-rate-of-traverse(CRT)orconstant-rate-of-extension(CRE)typetensionmachines.However,theremaybenooverallcorrelationbetweentheresultsobtainedwiththeCRTmachineandtheCREmachine.Consequently,thesetwotensiontesterscannotbeusedinterchangeably.Incaseofcontroversy,theCREmachineshallprevail.1.1Thistestmethodisanindextestusedtomeasuretheforcerequiredtocontinueorpropagateatearinwovenornon-wovengeotextilesbythetrapezoidmethod.Whileusefulforqualitycontrolandacceptancetesting,thetrapezoidteartestdoesnotprovidealltheinformationneededforalldesignapplicationsandothertestmethodsshouldbeused.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletomostgeotextilesthatincludewovenfabrics,nonwovenfabrics,layeredfabrics,knitfabrics,andfeltsthatareusedforgeotextileapplications.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
